Consumers are offered a stunning selection of products and services. Choosing one brand that would be reliable and honest is not that easy. That is the main reason why there appeared Better Business Bureau.

Better Business Bureau is an unbiased organization that provides consumers with thousands of profiles about various companies: form the smallest ones to real business sharks. The corporation was established in 1912. For years it has been gathering information about different firms to help consumers to make a right choice.

Today, there are hundreds of reviews about Better Business Bureau in the web. Any who is interested in learning more about this company can search for the needed information.

Quite often BBB warns customers about companies and organizations that are dangerous to deal with. Lately, the company has announced about several firms that consumers should be aware of. Here are some of them.

The BBB of New Orleans warns consumers about pseudo-charity organizations that allegedly collect money for victims of tornadoes that hit Missouri last week. Cynthia Albert, BBB’s director of media relations, says : "Unfortunately, there are con artists that come out of the woodwork (at times like this). They follow the headlines and know what's going to get to the hearts and wallets of people, and they're looking to get into that wallet as quickly as possible and move on". According to Cynthia cases like this often occur in places of disasters. Frauds contact people via e-mail, telephone or even come right to their homes and ask for contributions. BBB recommends being very careful when dealing with charity organizations. If you deal with online charity organization, make sure it has physical address and avoid writing checks to unknown individuals.

Better Business Bureau also warns citizens of Orlando about company that claims to work with Walt Disney, Inc. The company is looking for children aged from 6 to 17 to make them world’s famous cinema stars. Sounds funny, doesn’t it? But the thing is that many parents trying to make their children’s dream about big screen come true, believe these false ads and take kids to rehearsals. BBB representative Chris Thetford says : "They are preying on the belief that if you spend the money to go to the event, that means your child has the opportunity to become a child celebrity".

When one of BBB representative contacted the company, their spokesman said they had no affiliation to Walt Disney. Well, in one word, this is a just a pure scam. The scheme is simple: parents take their children to rehearsals (that are not free, certainly) and hope their kids will become starts. But miracle ever happens, and people are left with broken hopes and wallets.

The cases of fraud are very widespread. And the most awful thing is that most of them do not look like frauds. Better Business Bureau tries to warn consumers about such kinds of cases.

BBB is considered to be one of the most reliable sources of information about companies. Although, some customers do have complaints concerning BBB’s services.
